A small plane landed on a highway in Jackson County after its engine failed, officials said Tuesday.

No injuries were reported after a pilot had to land the plane on U.S. 441 near Cabin Creek Road about 3:45 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said.

Another plane crash was reported in Cherokee County about 4:45 p.m.

Neither the student nor the instructor were injured in that crash, which happened after the plane lost power during takeoff, officials said.
