Jennifer Ortman of Mountain View High School has been named the 2019 Georgia High School Media Adviser of the Year by the Georgia Scholastic Press Association.

Melanie Sewell is the new Vice President of Administrative Services at Atlanta Technical College. She will lead the efforts of the Business Office, Financial Aid, Human Resources and the Bookstore.

Cherokee High School junior Rebekah Seng, a member of the JROTC program, is among only about 500 students in the United States to earn the has earned the Congressional Award Gold Medal.

The Paideia School was recently awarded “Best School” based on students’ photographs in the Atlanta Celebrates Photography’s exhibition. It was the second year in a row Paideia has been awarded this honor.

Three Gwinnett County Public Schools teachers have been recognized by the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education as leaders in their field, earning honors at the 2019 GACTE Summer Conference: Kylea Woodley of Central Gwinnett High School is the 2019 Georgia Marketing Education Association's Teacher of the Year; Richard Getrum of Maxwell High School of Technology is the Trade and Industrial Educators of Georgia's 2019 New Teacher of the Year and Kimya Rainge of Mountain View High School earned the Georgia Marketing Education Association's 2019 Carl Perkins Outstanding Service Award.
