Booklet misprint sends patient to phone sex line

May 22, 2012

A cancer patient trying to reach a 24-hour nurse ended up calling a phone sex line due to a misprint in her patient orientation pamphlet, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Kathy Eden, of Floyd County, thought she had made a mistake while dialing, but she hadn't.

"I cannot imagine how many elderly people have called that number for help and got that sex line, and that upsets me," she told Channel 2.

Eden got the booklet during a visit from Floyd HomeCare. The erroneous number was listed on the cover and page 10.

When Channel 2 tried the number, it was directed to call another 800 number, which led to another suggestive conversation.

A representative of LHC Group, the Louisiana-based company that owns Floyd HomeCare, said the company apologizes and is working on replacing the incorrect booklets.
