Bond denied in woman's stabbing death
Two weeks after he allegedly a killed a mother of three and tied up her children, a Clayton County man was denied bond and returned to jail.
William Nazario, 33, faces murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and sodomy charges in the incident, which police have said began Sept. 9 at a home near Riverdale. He was booked into the Clayton County jail Thursday afternoon.
Friday morning, Nazario made his first court appearance to hear the charges against him. Bond was denied.
Nazario was taken into custody Sept. 12 in Bartow County, hours after the body of his girlfriend, Korean Bowden, was found stabbed to death in her bedroom. When the family's pastor went to the Lexington Court home on a welfare check, he found two of Bowden's daughters, ages 4 and 12, tied up and called police.
When investigators arrived at the home, they found Bowden's body, but Nazario and a 9-year-old girl were missing. Both were later found unharmed at a hotel in Bartow County and Nazario was taken into custody. He has reportedly been hospitalized since then for unknown reasons.
Arrest warrants issued for Nazario state that he allegedly fought verbally and physically with Bowden three days before she was found. Nazario allegedly has admitted to police that he stabbed Bowden, 32, and tied up two of her children to prevent them from seeing what he had done, the warrant states.
When he was being questioned, Nazario told police he had stabbed Bowden seven or eight times and then put the weapon on the back porch in a trash bag. Investigators recovered the knife, according to the warrant. A confession letter from Nazario was also found in Bowden's room.
