McDonough police say remains found near the Henry County Jail nearly a year ago have been identified as those of a 28-year-old man who had been missing since March of 2008.

Timothy White had bonded out of the jail and left with his girlfriend, but she says he told her he needed to go back to the jail to get something. She says she never saw White again.

Employees of a surveying company found the remains in a wooded area near the jail in June 2009. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says it identified the remains and announced its findings on Monday.

Police say they have not determined how White died but thereís no indication of foul play.
