Board rejects Smyrna Academy of Excellence charter petition

Cobb County's school board Thursday night rejected a petition from a group of Smyrna parents to create a charter school. Administrators wanted the charter school, Smyrna Academy of Excellence to serve up to 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade in the South Cobb area. Board members raised concerns about the petitioners' financial structure.
