Harboring a deep desire to be a cop? Auburn’s Police Department can provide you with a condensed, civilian version during the city’s Citizen’s Police Academy Course. Successful candidates will be exposed to some of the same complex situations that police officers may experience.

The next Academy meets 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evenings for 10 weeks beginning Aug. 13.

Topics will include traffic stops, building entry, personal defense, gun safety and use of force, DUI, explosive devices, and SWAT.
