Metro Atlanta seemed to escape most of the thunderstorms that threatened to hit the area Wednesday.

The stronger storms that were in far northern Alabama moved into Georgia on Wednesday night and faded into an area of light to moderate rain, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Thursday will be a nice day with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s, he said.

But then the threat of severe weather is back.

There is yet another threat for strong or possibly severe storms Thursday night, Burns said.

Expect storms early Friday morning, then a breezy day with highs near 60. Friday through the weekend will be sunny and cooler, with more typical late February temperatures, he said.
