As the clean-up continued from Sunday's severe thunderstorms that knocked out power to thousands, forecasters are warning that another round of strong storms is likely Monday afternoon and evening.

"Isolated to scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will develop again today," Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said early Monday.

Minton put the chance of storms at 50 percent on Monday and again on Tuesday, with highs in the mid-90s on Monday and low 90s on Tuesday.

Georgia Power crews were working early Monday to restore electricity to about 9,800 metro Atlanta customers who lost service during Sunday's storms. About 11,000 customers were still in the dark statewide at 5 a.m.

Sunday's storms dumped heavy rain in some areas, while other parts of metro Atlanta barely got any rain. Rainfall totals included 1.70 inches in Chamblee and .65 inch at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, but only .02 inch near Mableton and .08 inch in Marietta.
