Temperatures dipped into the 30s in parts of metro Atlanta early Monday on the chilliest night since last spring, but forecasters are predicting highs will rebound back into the 80s by mid-week.

Readings at 6 a.m. included 38 degrees in Dunwoody, Alpharetta and Cartersville, 40 in Dallas and 46 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton is forecasting sunny skies all week, with highs in the mid-70s on Monday, warming to the upper 70s on Tuesday and low 80s on Wednesday before dropping back into the upper 70s Thursday and Friday.

Overnight lows should be in the 50s, Minton said.

Atlanta’s normal high for Oct. 3 is 77 degrees, the normal low 59.
