Get ready for a less than pleasant morning commute.

Rain is expected to move in overnight and linger until after lunchtime Thursday, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said. There is a 90 percent chance of precipitation.

"Allow yourself plenty of extra time to get where you're going," he said.

The metro Atlanta area should pick up between .25 and .50 inches of rain, Burns said, adding that it won't necessarily be heavy rain, but it will be widespread.

Thursday also should see light winds and a high of 67 degrees, he said.

Expect clear skies Friday with a high of 65 and lows in the high 40s.

Saturday, there is an 80 percent chance of rain with a high of 59 and a low of 50.

The chance of rain drops to 20 percent Sunday with lows in the low 40s and a high of 52.
