An Atlanta Atlanta police officer was injured Tuesday morning in a wreck on Langford Parkway.

The officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after the wreck, which happened about 5:45 a.m. near Sylvan Road. The officer's condition was not immediately available.

Police at the scene said officers were working an earlier accident when a woman lost control of her car on a patch of ice and struck the rear of a patrol car, injuring the officer.

All eastbound lanes of Langford Parkway were shut down while police investigated the accident and cleared the wreckage.

Paul Marshall, a spokesman for the state Department of Transportation, said there had been ice reported in the area earlier.
