Atlanta police want the public’s help finding a 28-year-old man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.
Shelton Dantley Brown allegedly raped the child in southeast Atlanta on three separate occasions last November, according to an Atlanta police report.
The girl told her grandmother, who took her for a forensic exam at a nearby hospital in January, the report states.
A Division of Family and Children Services social worker spoke with the victim, who shared the exact dates of the alleged attacks and identified Brown as the rapist.
Police believe Brown is in the metro area and was most recently spotted in Decatur, police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Bender said.
He is described as 5-foot-4 and about 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Brown may be traveling with his 1-year-old son and his 29-year-old girlfriend, Bender said. Police did not provide a description of the child or Brown’s girlfriend.
Information can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. Persons do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward.
