Atlanta 34th in fun, says online magazine

What do the cities Omaha, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh all have in common?

They're all more fun than Atlanta, according to a list compiled by portfolio.com.

Atlanta ranks No. 34 on the list of the Top 100 Fun Cities.

Make that ONLY 34. Apparently, there's just not enough gambling and sports activities to push Atlanta ahead of other cities.

When it comes to shopping, Atlanta ranks No. 18, according the list. But we've got a ways to go in all of the other categories, including cultural arts, where Atlanta is No. 35.

"Atlanta is an exciting place for shoppers (18th), but it ranks 40th or worse in three other categories," according to portfolio.com.

Oh, and we apparently don't have enough golf courses, country club, bowling alleys or fitness centers, pulling our rankings down in categories related to sports participation.

We have to wonder: Did they really visit Atlanta? Because here at the AJC, we think there's plenty to do to live it up.

If you're looking to visit some "un-fun" places, try McCallen, Texas, and Provo, Utah. Those two rank 99 and 100, respectively.
