ATF investigating unlit molotov cocktails found in northwest Atlanta

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have taken over the investigation of two molotov cocktails found outside a building Thursday morning.

The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Defoor Avenue.

The Atlanta police SWAT team was sent to an address after an Atlanta Police officer was flagged down by a resident and advised the officer that he observed two bottles of what appeared to be molotov cocktails full of an unknown liquid near the front porch, said Eric Schwartz, Atlanta police spokesman.

Atlanta Fire Dept along with the ATF, FBI and the Atlanta SWAT responded to the scene and conducted the investigation on the suspicious items.

Police reportedly do not have any suspects and no injuries have been reported.

According to police dispatchers, the building where the devices were found is nextdoor to a rap studio.
