An assisted living center in Holly Springs is paying $200,000 to Cherokee County so it can acquire 2.1 acres of county-owned land for an expansion.
Windsor House Assisted Living LLC already is in Holly Springs, while the land it is acquiring is in the unincorporated county, and it wants its addition to become part of the city, County Manager Jerry W. Cooper said.
The Cherokee Board of Commissioners approved the sales agreement and conditions that the county cause the tract to be annexed by Holly Springs, and that it have the city grant a conditional use permit allowing the expansion of the facility.
