That's according to the New York Times' data-driven Upshot analysis on what music Americans love the most based on YouTube video views from spring's Billboard Top 100 artists.

After determining the 50 most-watched YouTube artists of the lot, the analysts created fan maps for each to identify where artists’ biggest fans are.

The darker the shade on the map, the more popular the artist in that specific area.

The lighter, the more likely people in that region favored other artists.

The most popular artist overall was Atlanta rapper Future, who, unsurprisingly, fared quite well with Atlantans.

In fact, of the most popular 50 artists or groups, four are either Atlanta natives (Future, Migos, Lil Yachty) or are closely associated with Atlanta (Gucci Mane).
