DeKalb County fire officials suspect arson in a fire that nearly gutted a moving company's warehouse late Monday night.

The blaze broke out around midnight in the 15,000-square-foot warehouse of Two Men and a Truck on East Ponce de Leon Avenue, said Assistant Chief Steve Ham.

Erin Whitty, a manager with the Lansing, Mich.-based company, told Channel 2 Action News the fire likely was set by one of two customers whose furniture was scheduled to be liquidated for non-payment, though DeKalb arson investigators said they have not yet identified any suspects.

According to Ham, the warehouse contained "anything you would find on a moving truck — household goods, clothes, furniture, washer-dryers, anything of that sort." Firefighters arrived to find a door forced open, and the facility also had been vandalized.

No one was inside the building when the fire started, Ham said.
