Two men have been arrested in suburban Chicago in connection with the slaying of a DeKalb County woman and the kidnapping of another woman.

Cristian de la O Hernandez, 22, and Jose Juarez-Vidales, 41, were arrested May 2 at a motel in Beach Park, Ill., according to the Daily Herald newspaper.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office told the Daily Herald that Hernandez is wanted in the shooting death of Maria J. Ramon and the kidnapping and sexual assault of another woman in DeKalb County on April 30. Ramon's body was found by a maintenance man at the Villas at Druid Hills Apartments on Buford Highway.

Hernandez allegedly met both victims at a DeKalb dance club and convinced them to go with him to another bar. While driving to the bar in Ramon's car, he allegedly pulled out a gun and began firing out the window of the car, the newspaper reported. He then ordered the second victim to remove her clothes and get in the back seat. As he drove, he began groping Ramon, the newspaper reported, and when she resisted he shot her in the head.

Hernandez left Ramon's body in the car and DeKalb police found her several hours later, the newspaper reported.

Hernandez allegedly forced the other woman to return to his car, and he then contacted Juarez-Vidales and told him he needed help taking guns to the Chicago area.

Hernandez told Juarez-Vidales that the woman was his girlfriend, and the three of them drove to the Chicago area. Police said Hernandez sexually assaulted the victim during the trip.

The victim was able to text a friend from the motel where the three were staying, and the friend called police, who arrested the pair.

The victim was treated at a hospital and later released to relatives in Georgia.

Hernandez is being held without bail in Lake County. He is charged with murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault and kidnapping.

Juarez-Vidales, of Rosewood, Ga., is being held on a murder charge.
