An arrest warrant for felony murder was issued Tuesday for a 17-year-old suspect in the fatal shooting of another teen found dead on a street near Lawrenceville, authorities said.
Gwinnett County police said they are seeking Brandon Prasad in connection with the slaying of Jose De Manuel Alfaro, 18, of Lawrenceville. Other charges against Prasad may follow, police said.
The incident happened in the 500 block of Simonton Ridge Trail, according to Gwinnett police Cpl. Edwin Ritter. Alfaro was found dead in the street around 11:30 p.m. Monday. The victim had been shot twice in the chest.
Alfaro did not live in the neighborhood, Ritter said.
Prasad should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call 911. Anyone with information about Prasad or the case is asked to call Gwinnett police detectives at 770-513-5000.
