A man sought by for sodomizing a 70-year-old DeKalb woman in her wheelchair has been arrested, police said Thursday.
Donnie Bess, 54, charged with aggravated sodomy, robbery and aggravated assault in a Sept. 26 incident on Glenwood Road, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Waycross. He is expected to be booked into the DeKalb County jail late Thursday afternoon.
He was arrested without incident Wednesday, DeKalb police said.
Police say Bess forced his victim to have oral sex. He's also accused of taking the victim's TV, diamond rings and cash.
Bess did yard work for his victim, police said.
Bess has either been charged or found guilty of several crimes since 1978. He was charged with rape in 1987 and again in 1995 but found not guilty. He was convicted of burglary in 1978, 1979 and 1982, arson in 1983, aggravated assault in 1994 and manslaughter in 2000.
