Lilburn police have issued an alert for an "armed and dangerous" suspect who eluded police after a Thursday afternoon bank robbery and vehicle chase.

Authorities believe 33-year-old Lenard Gibbs was one of three men who walked into the PNC Bank at 494 Indian Trail-Lilburn Road just before 4 p.m., pointing a pistol at a teller and demanding money. They got an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

Police chased the men's car to an apartment complex in Norcross before the suspects tried to run away. Two of the suspects — Benita Alveranga and Kyre Clifford Campbell, both 22 — were apprehended, but the man police identified as Gibbs escaped, authorities said.

Bank surveillance photos show Gibbs wearing a black shirt and a Brooklyn Nets toboggan-style hat. Police also released other photos of the suspect.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call 770-638-2182.
