Alpharetta police are asking the public to help them find two suspects they said knocked a woman to the ground — injuring her neck and back — after they tried to steal her purse.

Authorities said on Oct. 11, two males entered a parking lot at 3400 Old Milton Highway and attempted to take the 63-year-old victim's purse from inside of her Lexus NX 200t.

As the victim began screaming for help, she was thrown to the ground by the male suspects. Both male suspects fled the area on foot in an unknown direction, according to police.

When first responders arrived to the scene, they found the woman on the ground near her car. She told first responders she had severe neck and back pain, although no bruises were apparent, police said.

Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon told Channel 2 Action News the attack really shook up the woman.

“We called an ambulance and firefighters to come take a look at her because she was pretty traumatized just by going through that ordeal," Gordon said.

The victim told police she did not see the suspects’ faces, but could only describe them as two male teenagers, both wearing long pants.

"We're gonna look at cameras. We'll ask people to come forward if they have any information," Gordon said to Channel 2.

Residents with information about the incident can contact Alpharetta Crime Stoppers at 678-297-6307.
