Alpharetta police seek suspected killer on the run, offer reward

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading them to a suspect wanted in connection to a homicide Monday in Alpharetta.

Shane Demetrice Woods, alias Yung Slim, is believed to be headed out of the state and is considered armed and dangerous, Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon said. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the 22-year-old is asked to call 911 immediately. Police have charged him with murder in connection to a fatal shooting of an unidentified male at a townhouse in the Whitestone Ridge community off Old Milton Parkway.

Woods’ alleged accomplice, Jerad Terel Owens, 22, was arrested Wednesday by Sandy Springs police. Gordon said Owens is charged with felony murder, armed robbery, burglary, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
