The Alpharetta City Council has approved $162,051 in renovations to four fire stations and awarded the contract for the work to Rick B. General Contractors, the lowest of four bidders.
“There (have) been minimal upgrades to any of the fire stations since their construction,” staff said in a report to the council. “Public Safety and Public Works have been working collaboratively to develop a program of improvements that consist mainly of renovations to the two most-used rooms, kitchens and bathrooms.”
The work includes new flooring, cabinetry and appliances for Station 81; new toilets, vanities, lighting, plumbing fixtures, mirrors and flooring and wall repairs and painting for Station 82; cabinetry and carpeting for Station 83; and new toilets, sinks, vanities, shower insert, cabinets, and lighting and plumbing fixtures and refurbished kitchen cabinets for Station 84.
