A 10-year-old Alpharetta boy said his neighbor’s 3-year-old Siberian Husky attacked him as he walked by the apartment.

Jared Hernandez told Channel 2 Action News he was running when the dog, Gizmo, got scared and ran after him.

An Alpharetta dog owner is apologizing to the family of a young child attacked by the animal.

The fourth-grader was knocked down and bitten on his cheek and hand, but his friend was able to pull the dog back.

Araceli Montes, the boy’s mother, said her son is afraid of dogs now.

Fulton County Animal Control told Channel 2 the owner will not be cited, but Gizmo must be quarantined to ensure he is not rabid.
