North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) received a $15,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Alpharetta in February. The check will help the nonprofit expand their services, said Sheila Sillitto, NFCC marketing manager.

“The check was a surprise,” said Sillitto. “Last year, we served 9,435 men, women, and children. We are looking at expansion projects to serve more people.”

NFCC works to prevent homelessness and hunger in the community. The charity serves Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Mountain Park, and Roswell. The charity operates a food bank and thrift store and provides emergency financial assistance with rent, utilities and medical needs.

Some Alpharetta rotarians serve on the organization’s board. Rotary club members have delivered food from local markets to NFCC’s food pantry and assisted with back-to-school and holiday programs.

“This donation further demonstrates their commitment to help our neighbors in need,” said NFCC Executive Director Holly M. York.
