The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into a claim that a North Georgia teacher took “inappropriate” photos of a female student, a spokeswoman said.

A North Murray High School teacher is accused of taking pictures under the student’s dress, the Dalton Daily Citizen reported.

“On Thursday, November 17, 2016, the Murray County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to investigate allegations that a male teacher at North Murray County High School took inappropriate pictures of a female student,” GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday. “The GBI investigation is active and ongoing.”

Murray County Schools Superintendent Eric McFee said the system is conducting an internal investigation, but he would not discuss specifics, the Daily Citizen reported.

A student made a complaint last week with a resource officer on campus, Maj. Brian Ingle of the Murray County Sheriff’s Office said.

Murray County is about 88 miles north of downtown Atlanta.
