Alice Walker's archive arrives at Emory

Items from the personal collection of the author make their way to their new home at Emory University.

After the materials are cataloged, most will be available for students, scholars and members of the public to view.

The collection includes a telegram inviting Walker to Langston Hughes' memorial service.

The archive contains a large number of photographs of Walker during all periods of her life, including this one of her as a child.
