In hoping that winds and rains from Tropical Storm Irma have passed by then, Milton has rescheduled its city council meeting for Wednesday, Sept. 13.

The meeting was originally set for Monday, but the city, like many others in metro Atlanta, canceled it and other events as the storm passes through Georgia.

Milton's city hall was closed Monday, and officials asked businesses and residents to monitor weather conditions carefully throughout the day and make determinations that best meet their needs.

The council will meet for its regular meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at 2006 Heritage Walk.
