Acworth city officials will hold three public hearings this month on increasing property taxes by 5.54 percent.
However, the millage rate of 7.6 will remain the same as it has been since at least 2010.
The annual proposed tax increase for a house with a fair market value of $150,000 is around $23.94.
For a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $250,000, the proposed tax increase is about $39.90.
Hearings will be 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. July 16 and 6:30 p.m. July 23 in the Council Chambers, Acworth City Hall, 4415 Senator Russell Ave.
The millage rate will be adopted at the special called meeting on July 23, following the public hearing at 6:30 p.m.
