Gwinnett police have identified a second suspect in a July 27 Lawrenceville burglary foiled by a 10-year-old boy.

Soon after the attempted robbery at 2259 Halcyon Way, Gwinnett County police spotted Damion Burnell, 20, walking on a nearby street but released him due to a lack of evidence, according to Cpl. Jake Smith.

An anonymous tipster fingered Burnell after reading media coverage of the incident, in which 10-year-old Christopher King — home alone at the time — hid under a bed and called 911.

Smith said the tipster confirmed the 20-year-old was friends with D'andrew Greene, 19, who was apprehended by police minutes after responding to Christopher's call. Burnell, who remains at large, was also charged, along with Greene, in a robbery at 2320 Arnold Mill Way, located one neighborhood away from Halcyon Way.

"The M.O. was the same at that location," Smith said.

Police ask anyone with information on Burnell's whereabouts to contact 911.
