The creation of the cities of LaVista Hills and Tucker will be determined during Tuesday's elections.

Voters who live within the cities' proposed borders, which include more than 100,000 residents, will be able to participate in the referendums.

Cityhood supporters say they need more local control and separation from DeKalb County's government. Opponents argue that more government isn't the answer, and they doubt the cities would do a better job.

DeKalb voters will also decide on overhauling the county ethics board and electing state legislators, mayors, city council members and school board members.
