The search committee for the University System of Georgia's next chancellor has finished interviewing candidates and has provided recommendations to the State Board of Regents, a committee member said Monday.

The regents will interview three candidates from the pool in mid-April, said Susan Herbst, the system's chief academic officer.

The regents will select up to three finalists and release their names. The board is required to wait 14 days after announcing finalists to vote on the hire.

Chancellor Erroll Davis will retire at the end of June.
