The Atlanta Regional Roundtable on Monday is kicking off a massive public outreach effort, as the group starts choosing projects for a sales tax referendum next year.

In 2012, the 10-county Atlanta region will vote in a referendum on a list of transportation projects and a 1 percent sales tax to fund them.  The roundtable is choosing the project list.

From June 13-22, the roundtable will hold telephone town halls, where residents can listen in as their leaders discuss the referendum, and can stay on the line to ask questions or make suggestions.  Residents will be dialed through an automated system.
