Following a string of poor performances in presidential elections, Fulton County is trying to excise the issues of years past with an expansion of early voting and other improvements to the election system.
In addition to opening two dozen early voting locations for 19 days beginning Monday, Fulton is adding what it calls outreach locations. These popup early voting sites will open for two days at Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Atlanta Metropolitan State College, as well as at nine county senior centers.
The county has also sent out mailers to let people know where they can vote.
And new technology will let voters see how long the lines are before they arrive at the polls.
