Former Congressman Doug Barnard Jr.’s funeral set for Monday
Former Augusta Congressman Doug Barnard Jr., who passed away last week at the age of 95, will be laid to rest Monday.
Barnard, a banker and veteran, represented the 10th Congressional District from 1977 to 1993.
The funeral is scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Augusta, according to an obituary posted in the Augusta Chronicle.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Augusta, Augusta University, Augusta Warrior Project, and Mercer University.
