Candidates for a special election to replace former DeKalb County Commissioner Elaine Boyer can qualify for the race starting today.

The special election will be held on Nov. 4, the same day as the general election, and candidates may get on the ballot from 8:30 a.m. today to noon on Wednesday.

Boyer resigned and pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges.
