DeKalb County Commissioner Nancy Jester said Friday the FBI should investigate a possibly fraudulent document that resulted in a $1.5 million contract being awarded.

Jester was commenting at a county commission meeting after The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Channel 2 Action News reported about an invalid ethics opinion that cleared the way for DeKalb Development Authority Chairman Vaughn Irons to receive the contract.

Jester asked for Irons, who is also the CEO of APD Solutions, to resign from his government position.

“We are talking about $1.5 million taxpayer dollars and very serious allegations of possible forged county documents. The taxpayers of DeKalb County deserve justice,” Jester said.
