DeKalb County’s newest library branch is scheduled for a grand opening on Monday, May 6.

The County Line-Ellenwood Library, located at 4331 River Road, was approved by voters as part of a 2005 bond referendum. Construction began in early 2017 after years of delays.

A ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m. at what will become the county’s 23rd library branch, including one homework center. The new facility is 12,000 square-feet and includes meeting space, public computers, study rooms, reading areas and more than 20,000 books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs.

The project was designed by R.L. Brown & Associates and built by Hogan Construction Group.

The Ellenwood library will be open Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
