Commissioner Jeff Rader will serve as presiding officer of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners for the next year, allowing him run meetings and appoint committee chairs.

Rader previously served as deputy presiding officer. He succeeds Commissioner Kathie Gannon.

Commissioner Steve Bradshaw, who won his seat in 2016, was elected deputy presiding officer during Tuesday's meeting.

Both votes were unanimous, although one commissioner abstained from the presiding officer vote. There was no debate or discussion.
