Gov.  Nathan Deal will finally get his  party.

Deal, elected in November, had to seriously scale back his January inaugural events due to the crushing ice storm that hit metro Atlanta. His swearing-in was moved inside the Capitol, and his gala was canceled.

But Monday night at Cobb Galleria, the rescheduled celebration will take place. Individuals who had tickets to the previously scheduled event were contacted in advance to renew.

The original inaugural gala was scheduled for Jan. 10 at Philips Arena and was to be a black-tie affair. Country music star Luke Bryan was to perform. But after the storm turned much of the region into an ice floe, plans were scaled back and Deal assured his supporters that another event would be held this spring.

The governor's inaugural committee has thus far refused to release details about the money it raised and spent for the event, but it has promised to do so afterward.
