Cobb appoints new interim county manager

The Cobb Board of Commissioners appointed Rob Hosack, former head of community development, interim county manager Tuesday.

Hosack replaces David Hankerson, who is retiring after more than 24 years in the position.

In a letter to employees last week, Hankerson said he was retiring to spend more time with his family and “enjoy life in general.”

Hankerson’s contract was renewed earlier this year, but Chairman Mike Boyce had said he would be seeking a replacement, citing voters’ desire for change.
