The orders — all intended to offset the impact of COVID-19 pandemic — were set to expire in mid-July and now are extended through August 30.

Bottoms actions occurred on the same day that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top infectious disease expert at the National Institutes of Health, told a U.S. Senate committee that a resurgence of the COVID-19 could result in the country seeing as many as 100,000 new cases per day.
