Gregg Cofield’s 1965 Ford Mustang convertible is more than just a car.

For the Cartersville man, the completely restored beauty is a nod to his childhood.

“This car has been in my family for a long time,” he said. “The kids would drive it when we turned 15 and you couldn’t wait to get your turn. I’m so glad I was able to buy it from my parents and to have restored.”

Cofield, a senior account executive with Elanders Americas, said he hopes to pass along the car to his two young daughters when they get older.

“I hope it stays in the family,” he said.

Like Cofield, there are so many people in metro Atlanta who love their classic cars.

From Fayette to Forsyth counties, these beautiful machines can be seen cruising the back roads and highways of this state.

This video series has been created to showcase some of the fantastic cars in metro Atlanta and the people who put in the time, sweat and money to keep the tires rolling and the engines humming.

If you have a car you would like showcased, email Todd C. Duncan at todd.duncan@ajc.com.
