Schools will be closed due to the risk of hazardous road conditions

The storm that threatened to turn Atlanta into a snowy quagmire skipped the urban metro area, but hit areas to the north.
Consequently, Cherokee County school officials announced Sunday that they are cancelling school Monday.
“Based upon current hazardous road conditions in shaded areas throughout the County and on Cherokee County School District properties, and after consultation with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee Emergency Management Agency, the Superintendent of Schools has cancelled school for students and staff members,” the district said.
