State broadcaster TBC said the death toll had reached 183, according to Reuters.
Four divers resumed the search operation inside the MV Nyerere early Saturday after hearing sounds that suggested signs of life. They pulled a man out of the ship and rushed him to a hospital, Reuters reported. The man's condition was unknown.
On Friday, Tanzania President John Magufuli ordered the arrest of those responsible for the sinking.
