A Teacher Appreciation reception will be held at the state Capitol from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. August 29. It will be hosted by state Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan. It is in partnership with several groups, including the Georgia Parent Action Network, STING, Inc., Teach for America – Metro Atlanta, Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda, Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Georgia Charter Schools Association, Atlanta Urban League Young Professionals and StudentsFirst. The evening will feature food, entertainment by students and a surprise performance. Teachers from all the metro-Atlanta area are invited to attend.
