One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Spalding County on Friday afternoon, officials said.

One other person was injured in the wreck on Ga. 3, which started when an Acura RSX traveling north crossed the median into the southbound lanes, Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson told AJC.com.

A Chevrolet Blazer struck the passenger side of the Acura, and then a Volvo tractor pulling a trailer hit the Blazer.

This caused the Blazer to “overturn multiple times,” Watson said.

The driver of the Acura was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the Blazer was taken to the Atlanta Medical Center.

Southbound lanes on Ga. 3 were blocked for about three hours as crews investigated the crash.
