Two people were killed in separate wrecks Monday night in Douglas County, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Around 5:43 p.m., the driver of a Buick Rendezvous was eastbound on Ga. 8 when he allegedly crossed the center line and struck a Ford pickup head on, the GSP said. The Buick’s driver, Devin Jaquiche Miller, 19, of Villa Rica, was ejected and died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

About 15 minutes later, investigators worked a second head-on wreck on Ga. 8 near the Douglas-Cobb county line.

Investigators believe a Dodge Durango traveling eastbound drove into the westbound lane and struck a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The truck’s driver, Jarvis Jarmel Clark, 29, of Austell, died from injuries sustained in the wreck. The driver and a passenger in the Dodge were both seriously injured, the GSP said.

Both wrecks remain under investigation.
